Just about an hour or so before this, I log on, a few minutes later Krydus abducts me and the dark rift gets the last kill on me. My 3k tnl went back to the lovely 19k tnl.
then this time my 13k tnl, goes back to the lovely 19k tnl.
Ranking as a neutral is already painfully slow....

I understand "thats part of the game" , "thats the tough life of a keeper" , and "Slowing other caballed chars ranking can be part of the cabal life" ect ect. Losing the experience twice is rather aggravating (and him being completely intentional about making sure the rift got the last hit when i was stunned)
The whole incident is rather frustrating, and Really puts the
F. U. in fun.
Again, I know its part of the game. Just venting a little bit.
Can't complain about getting him to big nasty wounds with 300 hp...
Is the dark rift suppose to hit you twice, or is that a bug or something? If it hits once, I have a chance to get away!

    ...I am sure he would have prefered to get the killing blow since he doesnt get credit for the kill if you die to the rift...

    Also, you were contracted... so if you died to the rift the first time he abducted you then you would still be contracted, hence the second abduction... It has nothing to do with the world being against a keeper.

    I am pretty sure the dying to the rift doesnt remove contracts.

    wow that's crap that you get abducted at 300 hp and he still has full when you go into the rift..that doesn't seem right at all, a bit OP if you ask me. and yeah, the fact that you died twice to rift is lame since you lose all your eq and he just comes back when your naked and abducts you again

    after he was stunned, looks like krydus had a full tick to kill him but didnt. keeps the contract open, repeat process

    Let me say that first time Krydus didn't have a chance to catch Reiyin, just like the time with Dhua.

    Second time Krydus scanned all and went the wrong way, out of the area. Believe me, Krydus wanted to collect the contract.

    Everyone can think what they want, if it gets changed it gets changed.

    Abducting/bug "explotation"...- Krydus doesn't have time to pay attention to the double pulse.

    He's too busy paying attention to where someone is, because everyone just seems to flee from him in rift.

    If double pulse is a bug, which I think it may be. Please resolve it to what it's supposed to do.

    As for the abducting, it has a chance to backfire, but it hasn't yet it seems.

    @Pip- You really think Krydus would go abduct "him" when he's naked? I gave him time to equip, he was ranking. Only reason Krydus would abduct someone while they were naked, or just recently killed is because they were high in the rankings and a potential badass.

    The rift is as OP and the Justice and Knight equivalent. The only difference is the damage it deals, which is done to both parties, which is a double-edge sword. I have seen more logs of legion dying to their own rift then knights or justices dying to their anti-run skills.

    As a former legion, is that what you would do? Get people to die to the rift just so you can fail at a collecting their contract... its stupid to think that is what Krydus did.

    Exploting my ass, has anyone reported the rift damage before? And going back to my original comment why would any legion intentionally allow a contracted person to die to something/someone else... collecting contracts is part of how they are judged.

    Krydus didnt collect the contract this time cause doing so would have cause him to pop out of rage, die and tornasunder, or so he says.

    I have seen (and I'm sure everybody has seen these scenarios) necros cast plague on somebody, flee before they die and let the plague get them.
    seen shamans do the same thing with dysentary.
    People do things out of spite, just to get under somebodies skin.

    im not saying krydus let him die by the rift on purpose. i'm stating it 'appeared' like there was plenty of time to kill him before the rift did.

    Shadok, I could see how that would make sense to try and take an elite if they were still contracted even after death..I mean duty is duty and not fulfilling will just get you a heap so it's all understandable.

    Gomer, the reason I think it is a bit overpowered is because once upon a time the rift used put both fighters on the same fighting field, health wise, by reducing the legion's when both opponent enter. in this case you need to compare the fighters and see that the avian went in with 330 and the fire berserker, already full health of about 900 hp, still has the rage card to pull which will give him 400 hp extra, but whatever - the whole idea of the rift is to put the legion in the upper hand, especially since he has to sacrifice the loot for the contract. All i'm saying is there should be some kind of balancing factor so that it's not completely hopeless for the abductee.

    There are two reasons I can think of which would be motivations for allowing rift death on contracted:

    1. A contracted who isn't pinnacled yet gets heavy TNL added (as evidenced by this log). This inhibits ranking and takes longer for target to make pinnacle (assuming they don't nerdrage in the interim).

    2. A death is a death - and if they stay (CONTRACTED) then that's gonna mean 2 deaths. Each character only gets 61...

    Sometimes it's not about the rating or kill on the character's record. If Krydus was thinking long-term, causing a second mobdeath (and corresponding TNL increase) plus ensuring that the target remained CONTRACTED which gives him the opportunity again was the smart move.

    Although, the fact that Krydus' last initiation was a charge attack tells me that it was meant to be his own kill. The results were just coincidental (but not entirely negative from Krydus' perspective, I'm sure).
