of are now only pale, brittle chunks barely holding the walls of the
buildings together. The South Road continues to the east and west.

A large black gate with metals bars stands before you. Large sharp
spikes line the top of the fence extending out from the metal gate. A
large room lies beyond the gate. You can go on the South Road to the
north and the large black metal gate is to the east.

You are inside the guildhall of the dark-knights. Large torches line
the walls of the room, lighting every corner of the room brightly. A
large painting of a man in pitched-black armor on a battle horse
decorates the ceiling of the room. Weapons of various forms lie on neat
stacks, ready to be used. Distant sound of screams trickles into your
ears. You see a dark dungeon to the south and you can leave this
guildhall to the west.

Rourakas the trainee is here mastering ways to torture his victims.

You are inside a dark dungeon. There are prisoners tied to posts in the
center of the room. Various tools hang on the walls, ready to inflict
pain on its victims. A large whip with bladed ends lies coiled next to
the wall. A long rusty sword lies on the ground carelessly. Big clubs
with rough ends rests on a stack of weapons. There are more tools here
to inflict pain than you can ever imagine. You can leave this dungeon
to the north.

    cry? and how am I supposed to know you're afk? rule #1 of mudding, dont go afk. Rule #2, don't announce yourself to your pk target before attacking them, that kind of tips your hand.

    And yes, I thought it was rather a good display of what that guild is all about anyway. cheers.

    perfect example of why newbies dont stay with the mud. if they don't flee after the initial rounds of unsanc hits, then they are 99% likely to be afk. don't assume that everyone knows the basic rules to mudding, because you probably didn't learn them until someone said them or you learned them yourself.

    Well, good--now he has learned the basic rules to mudding. Best way to learn is through trial and error--he tried going afk in his guild, and now knows that isn't safe.

    yeah pip thats a given that when you first start something new you don't know the rules and have to learn them as you go along.

    me learning this rule didn't stop me. If this person was to leave because of this, then its likely because they don't like this fundamental concept of the game. Theres a more commercial game called eve online which is the same way in terms of afk being a nono.
